Calvin Turns 11 !!

For Calvin's 11th Birthday we all loaded up and drove East. We went to Pendleton for pizza and some driver "training".

So maybe not so much "training" as goofing around on the little kid toys!

And some winning of prizes! Way to go Austin!!

And some playing of video games. Hold on Luke!!

Then we heading to the Indy Go-Carts for some racing!

Here is the crew!

The birthday boy, Calvin, on his first race.

Jason & me!

Popa taking the car out for a spin.

Jason seeing just how fast he can take the corners.

(Read... Practice for the "real" race)

Austin found the hay on the side! Whoops!!

Kaleb, waving to Uncle Jason. Always a ham for the camera.

Boy is this kid in the right family!!

My Honey, also checking out the corners. I did mention that there was a race between Jason & my Honey after the kids got done, right?

I don't think they are supposed to lift up when taking the corners. But Uncle Jason, I'm sure, was just checking out possible "safety" issues for the boys.

Luke & I went for a couple spins around the track. Ok, so maybe we beat the pants off the other guys on the track. No, I didn't race any grown ups, but hey... a win is a win!!

Calvin getting ready for another race!

Hey, Austin...... we're catching you!!

Here is Nathaniel hugging the corners.

And Austin coming around the bend.

And now the race..... The kids are cleared off the track, don't want them to get in the way, ummmm errrrr I mean don't want them to be ....... yep, sorry, got nothing else, they didn't want them to get in their way. And the race was on.

You'll have to ask one of them who won!!!

Just to turn the tables on you..... Smile for the camera!!

Labor Day Weekend!

Friday, my Honey & I headed to Seattle to watch the Raiders play the SeaHawks. Kind of a last minute decision and boy-oh-boy we got last minute seats! I now know the true meaning of "nose bleed" seating!! But it was fun, and we were there!!
See that wall behind us.....that's the wall of the stadium! We had a birds eye view!! Too bad we didn't have an eagle's vision!! But it worked out great anyway. My Honey knows enough about football he was making the calls before the refs did. I already knew he had this talent, but it was really impressive from that distance!

I love this part!

This sign made me laugh and then every time I thought about it I laughed some more. I've never been to Palm Springs, but come on "The Palm Springs of Washington"... really?? !!

Sunday we went to try out the Indy Go-Carts. We are going to go back this Saturday for Calvin's Birthday Party (pictures to follow!) But we needed to try it out and make sure it was enough fun!

Luke rode with me the first race. I thought he'd be a little scared. I asked him how he was doing after the first lap..... he had one word for me.......FASTER!!!

He rode with Daddy on the next race. I think Daddy drove fast enough for him.

It was lots of fun!!
